Modifying User Logins and Passwords

When performing the initial import of your Administrative Data during system setup, TrainWorks establishes Username and Password values for all persons who could be assigned a User Login. These values, which are can be modified for individuals within the User Logins component, can be also be modified in mass by importing an update file through the Administrative Data component.

To modify existing User Logins and Passwords utilizing the Administrative Data component you must first set up a file containing both existing and new login information. The format of this User Login Update file must be set as follows:

existing user login name | new login name | new password | Is Active

file example:

003|jwagner|jwagner|N
004|ksoares|ksoares|N
130|jrichardson|jrichardson|N
150|pbrayton|pbrayton|N
155|kprovencher|kprovencher|N
160|rchampoux|rchampoux|N
161|echrzanowski|echrzanowski|N
162|mcintron|mcintron|N
163|mconsidine|mconsidine|N

Note: A "?" can be placed in any of the available field postilions (with the exception of the Existing User Login Name position) to designate that the current data residing in that field on the system should not be overwritten. For example, importing a file with the following record would indicate that the current user login name should not be altered, the new password should be updated to "jwagner", and the user login should be made active:

003|?|jwagner|Y

After establishing your User Login Update File you can import this data into your implementation of SkillsPlus by working in the "User Logins" section of the Administrative Data component and following the steps outlined in "Preparing Your File Extracts" and "Importing Administrative Data Files."
