In the course of managing your training environment it is inevitable that the need will arise to edit, delete, and add new skills to your curriculum. These processes are performed in the Skill Lists module of SkillsPlus. The Skill Lists module manages a repository of all skills (and all of the components that make up the skills) that are housed in SkillsPlus.
The Skill Lists module provides a set of tools to easily facilitate the manipulation of skills data. The module is most effective for working with skills data that has been imported into SkillsPlus. While new skills can be added through the Skill Lists module it is recommended that the Administrative Data and Skills - Tab Format import components be used when attempting to add large amounts of data, such as for the addition of a new course or completely revised skill Areas.
It is important to note that the Skill Lists module gives users access to core data on skills, and that any changes made to this data is permanent and will be reflected throughout the entire SkillsPlus system. Many environments elect to provide limited access to the Skill Lists module as part of their internal processes to ensure maintenance of data integrity. When updating skill lists you may wish to utilize the robust reporting capabilities of the SkillsPlus system to create documents that can be reviewed by relevant personnel – and channeled back to those with approved access to update skill lists with the Skill Lists module.
